About Mana Ooru - Mana Badi Programme

Mana Ooru-Mana Badi / Mana Basti-Mana Badi

Government of Telangana have approved a new flagship program by name “Mana Ooru-Mana Badi” in Rural areas and “Mana Basti-Mana Badi” in Urban areas, for comprehensive development and strengthening Infrastructure facilities in Government and Local body schools in a phased manner, spread over a period of 3 years.

The following 12 components shall be taken up under this programme

1. Toilets with running water facility	7. Green chalk boards
2. Electrification	8. Compound walls
3. Drinking water supply	9. Kitchen sheds
4. Furniture to students & staff	10. New class rooms in place of Dilapidated class rooms
5. Painting to entire school	11. Dining halls in high schools and
6. Major & minor repairs	12. Provision of digital class rooms

Initially in Phase-I (2021-22), the program will be taken up in 9,123 (35%) Government & Local body schools with enrolment, covering all categories of schools i.e., Primary School, Upper Primary School & High School, considering Mandal as the basic unit. In case there are more than one school in the selected school premises, they shall also be covered.
Every School shall form an Alumni Association (Old Student Association), out of which, 2 active members shall form a committee along with Sarpanch, 2 SMC members and Head Master of the School, for initiating development works, maintenance of school and mobilization of funds, through donors and CSR/NRIs.
A separate account shall be maintained towards such donors/CSR/NRI funds which shall be jointly operated by the Head Master, School Management Committee and 2 members of the Alumni Association.
The expenditure from this account for Mana Ooru-Mana Badi program Shall be incurred, only with the approval of District collectors.
Interest amounts accured on such funds may be utilized for maintenance of the school.
In case any donor donates Rs.2.00 Lakhs and above to the school under this programme, his name will be included as member in the school level committee for passing resolutions pertaining to finalizing of works and utilization of funds along with the SMC.

If any donor donates Rs.10.00 Lakhs and above under this programme, to a particular school, one class room of the school may be named as per the donor’s choice.
Apart from the above, Government have issued G.O.Ms. No. 2 Dt:24-01-2018 of school Education (Prog.I) department, where in it is provided for naming of an individual block /building which is part of the school, (but not renaming of the school) for each category of schools with the following amount of donations
